Beach Realty Gulf Coast

Clark Island is a Private Paradise that has endless possibilities for quiet living or the perfect Sportsman's getaway.

For those that demand the best, imagine developing this Island as a fishing/hunting lodge for expeditions that cannot be compared to anything else in Florida.

The Island is just north of Cedar Key, about a 20 minute boat ride from the public launch. The easiest access, however, is by leaving from the Shell Mound Camp Ground, which is a 10 minute boat ride to the island. Clark Island is also accessible from the town of Suwannee out the mouth of the Suwannee River.

The current owner uses an airboat so that he can make the trip at any tide, although it is accessible by regular boat except at low tide.

The Island teems with wildlife: deer, raccoons, alligators, armadillos, and wild hogs. The Island is home to at least one nesting pair of Ospreys. Bald Eagles are often spottted hunting the area.

Manatees and Tarpon have been spotted in the Preacher Hole. The fishing is just short of unbelievable. The famous "Preacher Hole" is literally just a cast away from the bank. 60+ pound Black Drum are routinely caught in this spot.

Just around the tip of the Island from the Preacher Hole, not more than 100 yards away, is an oyster bar that is a favorite, all you can eat buffet feeding spot for the Black Drum and huge Redfish.
